"Over 1 million plastic bottle are purchased every minute worldwide

and nearly 80% of these end up in our landfills and oceans.

At this rate, the amount of single-use plastic ending up in our oceans

will outweigh fish by 2050, unless we make a change."

D-Bottle's mission is to reduce the use of single-use plastic water bottles. As from June 2019 we took the next step in our mission by introducing this unique refill programs in Curaçao, St Martin, Schiedam and soon Rotterdam.

We as D-Bottle set up Water Refill Programs (WRP) in cities or countries to ban single-use plastic water bottles entering our planet and to encourage sustainable partnerships.

How the program works;

1.) Tourists or citizens buys a stainless steel refillable water bottle from a local entrepreneur, foundation, museum, or other organizations in this city or country.

2.) They scan the QR code on the bottle to find Refill locations (public drinking fountains, shops, musea, restaurants etc.)

3.) So they can find the nearest (public) Refill location to avoid the purchase of (single-use) packaged water.

How we work?

First we set up a network of resellers and Refill points. We bring all parties from our communities together and search for a win-win situation for each participant in the program, in their own field and their own capabilities. Our starting points and goals are; reducing the use of single-use plastic, create awareness and/or stimulation for; reuse, support in house sustainability policy,  supporting environmental education, encourage people to drink more water for good health and create economical benefits. At the same time we want to empower the whole community for working together to provide an outlet for positive change and a sustainable healthy world. We are active seeking for collaborations with parties with large public reach to promote our program, and to create awareness to reduce single-use plastic.

Every city or country has it own design bottle, designed by a local artist or other initiative to create also awarenesses for their work and sector. Every reseller of the bottle earns a reseller margin, this increases their income and positive interaction with sustainability. We donate 5% of our revenue to local non-profit organizations dedicated to the conservation of endangered animals, ecological research , environmental education , and to create awareness for reuse, reduce and recycle.

D-Bottle is introducing 'D-TAP', a special D-Bottle, with same specs, for a reduced price which can be (re)filled with water (for free or a small fee) at different locations, like museums, hotels, resorts, restaurants, shops and public locations that can be found by an app on your phone. Think Google maps for water. We make it easy to find unpackaged, clean water anywhere, so that as long as you have your reusable 'D-TAP' bottle,  you never have to buy bottled water again.

By working together we contribute to 9 of the UN Sustainable Development Goals on Curaçao.
